This week we have our first work experience student working with us.
On Monday he took part in an induction, which covered site Health and Safety and was introduced to the tools and equipment that he would be using, practising safe working conditions at all times.
Tuesday saw him prepping a wall ready for plastering and cutting and fixing thermal insulation plasterboards to the ceiling. He was taught how to measure square metres and calculate how many boards were needed.
Wednesday included cutting and fixing plasterboards to go over the thermal insulation boards, preparing the area ready for plastering.
The remainder of his week will involve learning how to mix and apply plastering material to the walls and ceiling.
Hopefully by the end of his work experience he will have completed a full process from start to finish for plastering a hallway walls and ceiling. Photos will be posted in the "projects" section.
He has been an excellent student and we hope that we have given him a true insight into just one of the many different types of jobs in the plastering industry.
